This intensive 4-day course is designed to transition fire-fighting knowledge into practical leadership. Moving beyond basic skills, students focus on the organisation, tactics, and command required to manage a fire party and vessel operations under pressure.

Course Objectives

Compliance Standard: This course provides the essential education and training to meet the Knowledge, Understanding, and Proficiency (KUP) requirements set out in STCW Table A-VI/3.
Course Details & Logistics
Location
This course starts at our main Academy address: Unit 6 Hardley Industrial Estate, Hardley, Southampton SO45 3NQ before relocating to our Fire Unit at Hythe Marine Park.
Course Times
Standard course hours run from 08:30 to 16:30 each day. Please arrive by 08:15 for registration and introductory briefings. Late arrivals may be turned away to ensure regulatory compliance hours are met.

This course is delivered over 4 consecutive days.
What to Bring
- Valid government-issued photographic ID (Passport or Driving Licence)
- Comfortable, casual clothes (like a t-shirt and joggers to wear under the provided PPE and Fire Kit). A spare change of clothes, towel, toiletries, and clean socks are recommended for practical training days. Please note that shower facilities are not available on site.
- Upload your health questionnaire and your previous Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting certificate on our online portal after booking
Refreshments
Complimentary hot and cold drink refreshments are provided on site throughout the course days. Lunch is not provided - options are available locally, or attendees are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
Payment Terms
- Pay in Full: Secure your spot today with a single 100% upfront payment
- Flexi-Pay Deposit: Pay a 35% non-refundable deposit now to reserve your place. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the course start date.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation 14+ Days Before Start Date: You will receive a full refund minus the 35% non-refundable deposit. If you originally paid the 35% deposit option, no further payments will be due.
- Cancellation Within 14 Days of Start Date: 100% cancellation fee. Course fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Accommodation
Accommodation is not available as an add-on option. A list of recommended local hotels, B&Bs, and guesthouses near our training facility is provided as part of the joining information.
Travel & Parking
Free on-site parking is available at our main training facility. Full directions and travel guidance will be provided in your booking confirmation email.
