Basic Safety Training with Accommodation
Our STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) 5-day course is a mandatory maritime safety qualification for anyone starting a career at sea. This internationally recognised program covers all essential STCW safety modules, combining expert instruction with hands-on practical training to prepare you for real-world emergency situations onboard. Learn essential maritime survival skills. Develop the skills needed to prevent and respond to onboard fires. Understand safe working practices on board a vessel. Gain essential first aid knowledge for marine environments. The STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) module is included at no extra cost when booking the full 5-day BST package. Learn how to recognise and respond to security threats, manage security risks, and follow ISPS Code requirements. Fire Aid can arrange 5 nights of accommodation with our partner hotel, The Moxy Southampton, a modern 3-star hotel located just over the water in central Southampton. While the hotel does not have a designated car park, the West Quay multi-storey car park is conveniently located nearby. Guests will stay in single-occupancy rooms at a fixed rate of £80 per night, on a room-only basis. Accommodation will be booked from 3:00pm on Sunday (the day before the course begins) to 12:00pm on Friday (the final day of the course). Please note: If you are willing to share a twin room with another attendee of the same sex, we will try to arrange this. Personal Survival Techniques (PST) – STCW A-VI/1-1
This module provides in-depth training in survival at sea through both theoretical sessions and pool-based practical exercises. Students will use a life raft, immersion suit, life jacket, and other professional survival equipment to master real-life rescue and abandonment procedures.Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF) – STCW A-VI/1-2
Training includes practical use of breathing apparatus, firefighting equipment, fire extinguishing techniques, and casualty rescue scenarios. Delivered by experienced instructors using realistic maritime fire simulations.Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (PSSR) – STCW A-VI/1-4
This module covers essential maritime safety procedures, pollution prevention duties, emergency response protocols, and insights into the culture and life aboard commercial ships.Elementary First Aid (EFA) – STCW A-VI/1-3
Students receive practical and theoretical training in first aid techniques, including response to common onboard injuries and emergency medical situations.Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) – INCLUDED FREE
